Once you've decided which fundraiser to institute this year, there are a few things to get ready before it's launched.  Here are a few suggestions on how to organize a fundraiser.

• Delegate various responsibilities:  Assign committees or have individual group members volunteer to manage a specific task, such as event promotion, order form collection, product sorting, et cetera.

• Announce your fundraiser to your institution and community:  Send home flyers with group members, and publish announcements in your school's newletter or community newpaper.

• Devise a sales incentive structure for your top-sellers:  Decide what prizes you want to give away and begin acquiring them.

Regardless of the type of fundraiser you'll be conducting, the most important issue is for your group leaders to BE ENTHUSIASTIC about your event.  Your group's success depends on your ability to keep your members excited about the prospect of winning prizes and raising money for their own benefit.
